Enabling Closed Captions in Microsoft Teams and Pinning Sign Language Translators

Updated on

To enable Closed Captioning in Microsoft Teams:

  • Join a Teams meeting or a group call (audio or video)
  • Once joined or in the group call, select the three ellipses (More actions)
  • Select Settings.
  • From Settings, select Accessibility
The "More" three dot menu opened, then the "Settings" menu opened, then the "Accessibility" button boxed in.
  • You have two options:
    1.  Prioritize Signers on my screen in meetings
    2. Always show captions in my meetings
the "Accessibility" window opened.

Please make sure to enable the feature to turn on the functionality of the option you prefer.

Reminder: It is recommended that the Host or Facilitator of each meeting remind participants about this feature available because it is a self-service feature (each user has to turn on or turn off live captions on their end).
