Brightspace is a learning management system that enables personalized learning, course management, and interactive content delivery for educators and students.
Step 1: Login to Brightspace and access your course
Step 2: Select the COURSE ADMIN tab on the course navigation bar and then select the CONTENT option listed
Step 1: Click on SYLLABUS MODULE listed on the menu on the left side of the screen.
Step 2: Tell Brightspace you want to upload a file (Can be a Word document or a PDF)
- Click on the UPLOAD/CREATE button
- Select Upload Files from the drop-down menu that appears
Step 3: Find the file on your computer (PC example)
Select MY COMPUTER from the list of options
Upload the file by clicking on the gray UPLOAD button
Use the File Finder to locate and select the file you want to upload into Brightspace.
Click on OPEN button
Click on the ADD button
Here is what it looks like once the file is uploaded.
Step 1: Click on the name of the module listed in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 2: Click on the words "Add a description"
Step 3: Add text, images and video to the TEXT BOX that appears
Select Update when you have finished adding the description.
Here is how it would look once you finish.
Add Description to an Uploaded File
Step 1: Inside the Module, scroll to the file to which you want to add a description. And select the drop-down arrow to the right of the file name.
Step 2: Select EDIT PROPERTIES IN PLACE from the list of options in the drop down menu.
Step 3: Click on the words, "Add a Description" under the title of the file.
Step 4: Add text, images and videos to describe the uploaded file and why a student might need it. And click the UPDATE button.
