Associating a discussion to a grade item on Brightspace.

Brightspace is a powerful, user-friendly learning management system (LMS) designed to enhance educational experiences for students, educators, and institutions. Developed by D2L, it offers robust tools for creating and managing courses, engaging learners, and tracking progress. With features like multimedia content integration, mobile accessibility, and advanced analytics, Brightspace supports personalized learning and fosters collaboration in both traditional and online education environments.

To associate a discussion topic to a grade item in Brightspace, you can follow the steps listed below.

  1. Go to Course Tools in the navigation bar of the course.
  2. Click on Discussions.
  3. Click on the dropdown arrow next to the discussion topic. If you don't have a discussion topic created, click "New" to create one.
  4. Click Edit Topic.

5. Go to the Assessment tab

6. Click on "In grade book" drop down arrow and select "Edit or Link to Existing"

  1. Click on "Link to an existing grade item". If you don't already have a grade item, select "Create and link to a new grade item".

8. Click on "OK" when done selecting the grade.

9. Click on "Save and Close" when you have finished filling out or editing the selected discussion item.
