Why It is Important to Use the Accessibility Checker

The Microsoft Accessibility Checker is a valuable tool for creating accessible content. It identifies potential issues that may make it difficult for people with disabilities to access or understand your material. By using this tool, you can proactively address problems such as missing alt text on images or incorrect reading order. It also provides helpful suggestions to fix these issues, ensuring your content is usable and inclusive for a wider audience.

Getting Started with the Accessibility Checker in PowerPoint Web App

  1. Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to check.
  2. Click the "Review" tab at the top of the window.

  1. Select "Check Accessibility" from the available options.

  1. If there are no issues, a "No accessibility issues found" message on the right will be displayed.

  1. Selecting any of these issues will highlight the related content on the slide, making it easy to locate and fix. You can then follow the suggested steps provided in the pane to correct the issue and improve accessibility.
