Read&Write Predictive Text Tool

The Read&Write predictive text tool will help you compose your documents by providing a list of words as you type.

Using the Prediction Tool

  • Open Read&Write
  • Select the “Prediction” tool.

  • The prediction tool can be used in applications like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and even search fields on the internet.
  • Go to your desired application and start typing.
  • Read&Write will show an arrow pointing to the cursor that leads to a box with suggested words.
  • Click on a word from the list to fill in your text.

Prediction Tool Settings

  • Number of results: adjust the maximum number of words that are suggested with the “Prediction” tool.
  • Follow the cursor: 
    • If checked, suggests new words based on the current cursor position. 
    • If unchecked, suggests new words based on the last word typed.
  • Predict ahead: 
    • If checked, suggests new words based on the previous word typed.
    • If unchecked, the tool only suggests words after you start typing the first letters of each word.
  • Read prediction suggestions on hover: Read&Write speaks the suggested words when the mouse cursor is placed on the suggestions box.
  • Text Size: adjust the size of the suggested words.
