How to Add (Alternative Text) Alt. Text in Brightspace

There are two ways to add alt. text to images in announcements.

The First Way is Uploading Through Selecting Camera Icon

Select the Camera Icon

Select “My Computer”

The ways to add an image to the announcement. With “my computer” boxed in red.

Select “Upload”

Add a file pop-up. With the “upload” button boxed in red.

Select the Image You Want to Upload

The files that can be selected. One of the files is boxed in red.

Select “Add”

A Pop-Up Will Come Up Add the Alt. Text in the Box

Unless the image is decorative then select the box and you will not need to add any alt. text to the box.

Select “OK” Which Will Add the Image with the Alt. Text

Finally, You Post the Announcement the Same You Always Will

The Second Way is Dragging the Image to the Announcement Box

Drag the Icon into the Announcement Box

Select the Image

Select the Three Lines

Same image as above but, with the three lines boxed in red.

Type the Alt. Text Into the “Image Description” Box

Editing the image with the “image description” box boxed in red.

Select “OK”

Same image as above but, now the “ok” button is boxed in red.

Finally, You Post the Announcement the Same You Always Will
